170-Year Celebration Thank You, New Members, Heritage Sunday, & Be The Bridge Capital Campaign
Greetings Topeka First UMC, Thank you to everyone who made Sunday's 170-year festivity a wonderful celebration of God's presence blessing our church for so many years! Special thanks to Randall & Marlana Hodgkinson for the beautiful balloons, Dori Murphy for the special 170th anniversary wrapped chocolates, and Larry & Doris Wills for all their work putting together the history display. Congratulations to our new members John & Amy Roberts, their son Rowan (preparatory member) and Zenia Finley. As part of Heritage Sunday, we added Marge Whelpley, Benjamin Zinn, & Nila Spencer as 50 year members! This is the history slide show that was playing before service that I thought you'd like to watch! Also on Sunday, we publicly announced the Be The Bridge Capital Campaign. This campaign is designed to modernize the Klasse Chapel & the Celebration Room, build a portico outside our main entrance, replace carpet in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, and replace the outside covers on the stained glass windows. We hope this campaign allows our space to be used in many ways and will allow for flexibility well into the future. You should have received a letter in the mail later yesterday or today with many more details. You can sign up for one of the campaign dinners by clicking on either link: Thursday, April 3 at 6:30 pm and Sunday, April 6 at Noon or you can email Shawna (shawna@fumctopeka.org). As I said Sunday, please be in prayer for this capital campaign! Together, we can Be the Bridge! Blessings, Pastor Brad |
