Greetings Topeka First UMC,

I hope this message finds you well and that you're having a fantastic week as we approach the Easter holiday!

I'm excited to remind you about our annual Easter Egg Hunt taking place tomorrow from 1-2 pm at the Capitol grounds. It's always a joyous occasion filled with laughter, & excitement! We're still in need of a few more volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly. If you're able to spare some time and lend a helping hand, please let us know by signing up here. 

As we move closer to Easter, this coming Sunday marks Palm Sunday, a significant day in the Christian calendar. We will commemorate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem with our traditional procession of the palms. The theme for Sunday's service is "Coronation Day," reflecting on the dual nature of that momentous day – Jesus' anointing as King and the beginning of his journey towards sacrifice. I encourage you all to join us for one of our three services or connect with us through the live stream.

I hope that by now, you've received a packet in the mail regarding our "Be the Bridge" Capitol Campaign. This campaign represents an important step in our church's mission, and I invite you to prayerfully consider how God may be calling you to contribute. Anyone interested in quiliting or learning to quilt should come to the downstairs quilt room on Tuesday mornings at 10 am.  Quilts are made throughout the year and many are donated on "White Sunday" in December.  The group also makes other fun items throughout the year.  info@forthegoodofthecity.org

Sharefest provides an incredible opportunity to partner with other churches to serve local schools. Through activities such as landscaping, painting, construction, and clean-up, we aim to revitalize and uplift the spaces that help nurture and shape our community's children and families. Sign up here under Scott Magnet Elementary on April 26th from 8 am-12 pm. Your involvement is a powerful way to showcase Christ's love through service. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of children, families, and the organizations that support them in Topeka.

Mobile Access Partnership (MAP) offers services to individuals including showers, laundry, a hot meal, and health care. Sometimes, the K-State Vet Clinic & the Street Dog Coalition are also on site to help with pet care needs. Topeka First UMC hosts the MAP service in our parking lot.
